Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham, Everton, Tottenham and more Premier League sides feature in Starsport’s transfer blog today for the January window .
As attention turns to the FA Cup third round this weekend, clubs are working hard behind the scenes to get deals over the line.
Manchester United are busy in the market with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on bringing in new faces, and Juventus could be sending Adrien Rabiot to Old Trafford in exchange for Paul Pogba.
Arsenal, meanwhile, need to strengthen at centre-half and Jerome Boateng would cost just £4m to lure to the Emirates from Bayern Munich.
Chelsea are looking to bolster their attacking options, but Tottenham are plotting a raid on their London rivals for long-term target Willian, whose contract is running down at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool new boy Takumi Minamino is expected to make his debut tomorrow in the Merseyside derby tie at Anfield.
West Ham are pushing to get Gedson Fernandes to the London Stadium ahead of a host of other top clubs across Europe, and there is real hope a deal can be done with Benfica.
Liverpool, Everton, Aston Villa, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Leeds, Rangers and Celtic are among the many other clubs set to feature in our blog today too, and Starsport has all the latest gossip and rumours to keep you in the loop.
Minamino to make Reds bow
Jurgen Klopp has suggested Takumi Minamino will make his debut in tomorrow’s FA Cup third round derby with Everton at Anfield.
He said: “I think it’s the same situation (as Virgil van Dijk). When he (VVD) came in I decided in the morning why not (play him) – let’s give it a try and it was a good decision.
“Takumi is here and had three sessions with the team. That’s not so much but it’s football.
“He kind of had time off when Salzburg had a winter break. We were not allowed to bring him here to train so he was back in Japan. He came here in good shape – let’s see.”
Willian to Spurs shock
Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham are secretly plotting a shock transfer raid on London rivals Chelsea for star winger Willian.
Willian has been a huge success at Stamford Bridge since a £30m move from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013.
Spurs thought they were set to land the Brazilian winger, but Chelsea nipped in at the last minute to beat their neighbours to the punch.
However Tottenham could be about to finally get their man seven years on as his contract with the Blues ticks down.
Willian is the final six months of his deal in west London and it’s claimed Spurs have been working on bringing him across the capital.
Ian McGarry said on Reach plc’s Transfer Window Podcast this week: “Mourinho is very keen to take Willian. I’m lead to believe Chelsea wouldn’t necessarily stand in Willian’s way.”
Boateng bargain for Gunners
Arsenal have been told they can land 31-year-old Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng for a bargain fee of £4.2m this month.
Arsenal have struggled at the back this term, and this week were dealt a blow with Callum Chambers being ruled out for up to nine months with a knee injury.
And Germany international Boateng is one name on their radar as they look to add a touch of quality.
Munich won’t hold interested clubs to ransom either, with Bleacher Report claiming he could move for less than €5m (£4.2m).
Reporter Dean Jones tweeted: “Jerome Boateng wants to leave Bayern and the club are happy to let him go. Unlikely to go for nothing but am told fee will be low, maybe around €5m.”
Rabiot for Pogba exchange
Juventus are ready to offer Adrien Rabiot and £60m in cash to land Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Starsport revealed this week that United are ready to sell Pogba after growing fed-up at the ongoing saga over his commitment to the cause at Old Trafford.
They spent £89m signing him from Juve in 2016, and the Serie A giants now believe they can tempt United into sending him back, and the will throw Rabiot into any deal as a sweetener.
The Sun report Juve are ready to cut him loose already, and bundle him into a cash-plus-player swoop for Pogba.
They’re said to believe an £80m deal made up of around £60m in cash and Rabiot – who is valued at £25m – can be done.
However, that is some way short of the £150m Starsport understand United want if they are to sell Pogba this month.
